What are the benefits of consuming Desi Cow Ghee

Desi Cow Ghee is an integral part of our home and daily life. From time immemorial, it is believed that giving a teaspoon of ghee every day to our kids can help with their overall health. Desi ghee has been used in various Indian recipes for thousands of years. According to Hindu mythologies, desi ghee is considered to be pure and divine. Ghee is also commonly used for performing rituals and poojas on various occasions like marriages, funerals, and other ceremonies. 

According to Ayurveda, desi ghee is considered to be one of the most healing substances. Desi ghee is very rich in nutrition, which is useful for each and every cell of our body. Desi ghee is important for making traditional ayurvedic medicines. Desi ghee is made from cow’s milk and it is usually prepared at home by heating white butter. Heating butter results in the separation of liquid fat and milk solids. Once the milk solids are separated, the ghee is ready to use. Ghee has lower lactic content than butter. Ghee is rich in vitamin A, C, and K. It is also an excellent source of vitamin E which is significant in providing antioxidant properties. The benefits of desi ghee are indescribable. According to Ayurveda, drinking ghee in the morning on an empty stomach helps in losing weight. 

Studies show that starting a day by consuming ghee has numerous benefits to our health. Desi ghee provides essential fatty acids, which results in improving memory by rejuvenating the brain; it is also known to slow down the aging process and enhance immunity. While fat should be consumed in moderation, studies show that eating fatty foods such as desi ghee helps the body absorb some essential vitamins and minerals from the food very easily. Cooking foods and vegetables with desi ghee helps the body to absorb more nutrients and vitamins at very ease. 

Desi ghee has been used to treat burns and swelling. as it contains a certain limit of anti-inflammatory properties according to Ayurveda. While this is not scientifically proven, ghee does contain butyrate, a fatty acid that has known anti-inflammatory properties. Studies show that the presence of butyrate in desi ghee can possess inflammation within the body. 

 One of the main health benefits of desi ghee is that it boosts the digestion process. Ghee is a powerhouse of short-chain fatty acids which helps in breaking down food more effectively, even while stimulating digestive enzymes. Another benefit is that desi ghee is safe for consumption for people with cholesterol and blood pressure issues. Desi ghee helps in regulating cholesterol by increasing lipids and giving a boost to the metabolism. The conjugated linolenic acid in desi ghee helps in shedding those extra fat deposits. Traditionally, it is recommended to massage a little bit of camphor with desi ghee around the belly, which is known to reduce the fat. Desi ghee is also good for the eyes; the usage of cold ghee for the eyes acts as cooling oil. It also aids in nourishing dry and fatigued eyes. 

As mentioned earlier, desi Ghee is a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids. And these omega 3 fatty acids help to maintain optimal eye health and also helps to fix most of eyesight problems. Ghee is also used to help treat various skin diseases. Being rich in antioxidants, ghee helps neutralize free radicals, nourish the skin, helps in the moisturization of skin and gives a shiny effect. Ghee helps in transforming dull skin to healthy skin with its nutritional benefits. There are so many other skin problems such as skin hydration, pigmentation, burns, and other damages that can be treated by using desi ghee. 

Desi ghee is also beneficial for good hair health. Vitamins A and E in desi ghee helps in softening hair, while antioxidants help to remove toxins that cause heaviness and frizziness in hair. But despite the many uses, there are many myths about desi ghee. A few such myths are that ghee promotes weight gain and it is not good for cardiac persons.  But the fact is that Desi ghee is rich in Omega 3, Omega 6, and essential fatty acids, which help to cut down on the size of fat cells and help mobilize the fat cells in order to burn energy. It promotes lean body mass even while the amount of stubborn fat in the body is high, and helps in boosting metabolism. The proper functioning of the heart and cardiac muscles can be supported by the range of antioxidants present in Desi ghee. 

We can certainly conclude that from ancient times, desi ghee was considered to be an irreplaceable thing in every aspect of our life.
