Rice Cooker Baked Chocolate Cake Recipe

Baking is fun to do regardless of if you’re a professional or a simple hobbyist. When it comes to baking, there is no greater joy than to produce an amazing recipe that is a result of the amount of time and effort you put into learning how to properly bake. However, baking is also considerably one of the most demanding kitchen activities in terms of the tools and equipment needed to bake. Generally, you would need an electric mixer, sets of measuring cups, a kitchen scale, and of course a reliable oven. And for anyone only starting their baking journey, it is safe to say that it is difficult to have all these baking tools and equipment at hand. Taking this into consideration, have you ever heard of rice cooker baked cake?

Much like it is called, rice cooker baked cake is cake that is completely and absolutely cooked using a mere rice cooker  a kitchen appliance in it easy to say that we all have. To give you a better idea, here is a quick recipe on how you can make amazing cake by baking it using a rice cooker.

Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe

What you need:

  • 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar
  • 250 grams of butter
  • 1 tsp of vanilla essence or vanilla sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 ½ cups of milk

How to do it:

  • In a large mixing bowl, sift the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  • Let your butter soften and add it to the bowl of the dry ingredients.
  • Whisk the ingredients together and continue stirring until the sugar completely dissolves.
  • Crack open the eggs and add it to the bowl.
  • Continue whisking until the eggs are mixed completely and the mixture starts to turn fluffy.
  • Gradually add the milk while stirring and continue whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  • Take your rice cooker pan and grease the sides and the bottom using some softened butter.
  • Gently pour the chocolate mixture into the pan.
  • Place the pan on the rice cooker and let it cook for 1 hour and 15 mins.
  • Once done, take the pan out and gently scrape the sides of the pan to separate the cake from the pan.
  • Put a plate or a rack on top of the pan and turn it upside down to let the cake simply fall down onto the plate.
  • Top with your toppings of choice such as whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate frosting, etc.
