Caffeinated Drinks

You need rest and to stay hydrated when you’re sick. Caffeinated beverages will affect both of those aspects of your health. Drinking caffeine a few hours before sleep negatively impacts your sleep cycle. So you might find it hard to fall asleep or stay asleep through the night.

In addition, caffeine is also dehydrating. Focus on drinking water so that your body is constantly replenishing the fluids it needs to recover.

Sugary Snacks

Your favorite comfort foods that you want to consume when you don’t feel your best are the ones that are the worst for your health. Various candies and ice cream are high in sugar. Unfortunately, the sugar inflames your stomach and backtracks your recovery. Instead of the sweet snacks making you feel better, you’re prolonging your sickness.

Greasy Foods

Very greasy foods are never a healthy option, even when you aren’t sick. When your immunity is low, it’s challenging for your stomach to break down certain foods. Greasy items contain high amounts of fat that your body can’t easily digest. If you felt nauseous before, you will feel even worse after eating greasy foods.
